Safety Culture

CROSSFIELD SAFETY

Zero lost-time incidents for three consecutive years. Safety is the professional standard every CrossField engineer and inspector holds as a personal commitment — not a compliance exercise.

ZERO LTI IS THE STANDARD.

CrossField's safety culture begins with the position that zero lost-time injuries is not an aspirational goal — it's the expected standard of professional practice. Our safety record reflects the belief that every incident that injures a worker is a preventable incident that someone failed to prevent. That belief changes how we plan work, how we staff field operations, and how we hold our team accountable.

Our current Experience Modification Rate of 0.68 places CrossField in the top quartile for safety performance among Missouri civil engineering firms — a result of consistent daily safety inspections, rigorous pre-task planning, and a field supervisor culture where stopping an unsafe operation is expected and rewarded, not questioned or penalized.

Every CrossField employee — from the PE stamping designs in the office to the inspector on the grade separation bridge — understands that safety is not the safety department's responsibility. It's every engineer's and inspector's individual professional obligation. That culture has produced a safety record we're proud of and intend to maintain.
